Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a prominent civil engineering contractor based in Ramsgate, UK. Candidates with backgrounds in civil engineering or groundworks are preferred. Experience in sectors such as rail, earthworks, sea defence, heavy civil construction, and groundworks is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct consistent and thorough review and summarization of site documentation including records, diaries, and allocations, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of necessary reports for additional payments, variations, and claims.
- Submit applications for payment promptly in line with contract entitlements.
- Ensure timely receipt and proper allocation of payments in coordination with the accounts department as per contract agreements.
- Prepare and deliver monthly cost and value reconciliations along with final cost and value forecasts.
- Create and present forward work schedules coupled with cash flow projections.
- Manage procurement processes including negotiation and placement of sub-contract and material orders.
- Oversee the financial and commercial management of subcontractors, guiding through to the final account settlements.
- Guarantee that all contractual correspondence, notices, and information comply with contract requirements.
- Provide commercial assistance to site teams and contracts management.
- Support the estimating and procurement teams with commercial insights.
- Maintain strong client relations by collaborating closely on commercial matters and preparing required supporting documentation.
