Role Summary

The Quantity Surveyor will oversee both pre-contract and post-contract commercial functions related to construction projects. This includes cost monitoring, quantity estimation, procurement, contract management, payment certification, variations evaluation, and financial reporting, ensuring projects adhere to budget and contract terms.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze tender documentation, prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), perform quantity take-offs, and formulate cost estimates and tender pricing.
• Manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs), assess quotations, and identify cost reduction and value engineering opportunities.
• Administer primary contracts, subcontracts, and supplier orders; track expenses against budgets and generate cash-flow forecasts.
• Evaluate variations, change order requests, and extensions of time (EOT) claims diligently.
• Inspect interim payment applications, confirm progress through site inspections, and produce payment certification documents.
• Conduct site measurements, validate works against approved plans, and coordinate with project managers and site engineers.
• Maintain records of variations and claims, assisting in the settlement of final accounts.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Between 5 and 7 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related commercial role, including hands-on site QS responsibilities; prior experience in the UAE is advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of BOQs, valuations, variation assessments, and cost control techniques.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and strong communication skills, capable of coordinating amongst multiple stakeholders while working autonomously.
