Role Overview

We are searching for a seasoned Quality Control Inspector specializing in piping to participate in commissioning phases of oil, gas, and energy projects. The position involves assessing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), inspecting pipe installations, supports, valves, welds, and flanges, and conducting hydrostatic and pneumatic testing. The role aims to ensure that piping activities conform to project standards, industry regulations, and client specifications.

  • Assess readiness of lines for hydrostatic testing or reinstatement by ensuring mechanical completion.
  • Inspect flange connections to confirm proper facing, gasket choices, bolt materials, and orientation.
  • Validate flange assemblies by reviewing torque/tension procedures and tightening sequences.
  • Check bolt lubrication, alignment, and gap acceptability within project tolerances.
  • Conduct inspections during hydrostatic and pneumatic testing phases, including test package evaluation, leak detection, pressure hold verification, and line walkthroughs.

Requirements

  • A diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on quality control experience with piping in oil and gas projects.
  • In-depth understanding of piping materials, isometric drawings, and welding techniques.
  • Knowledge of industry standards including ASME, API, and ISO codes.
