  • Ensure that utility supplies meet qualitative standards by following work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures, including coordinating required utility sample collections.
  • Precisely complete and review daily, weekly, and monthly reports on utility production and operations within the system.
  • Oversee monitoring of utility input materials, consumables, and outsourced services to guarantee smooth utility functions.
  • Provide support to maintenance teams by safely taking equipment offline, isolating and tagging it, and bringing it back online after repairs.
  • Facilitate practical training and mentoring for newly assigned or existing utility operators both onsite and offsite.
  • Conduct regular plant patrols and document comprehensive shift inspection records.
  • Promptly report all EHSS-related incidents and accidents.
  • Compile and submit detailed utility shift reports as necessary.
  • Initiate procurement processes for raw materials and chemical consumables required for operations.
  • Raise maintenance requisitions to address equipment malfunction or issues.
  • Escalate significant utility operation or maintenance risks to the Utilities Specialist without delay.
  • Offer suggestions for operational improvements, enhancements to equipment, or process optimizations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Technical Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Utilities, Industrial Maintenance, or an equivalent discipline is required.
  • For holders of a Diploma or Technical Certificate: minimum of 3 years of experience in utilities operation or maintenance within industrial, manufacturing, foundry, forging, or heavy manufacturing settings.
  • For candidates with a High School certificate: at least 6 years of relevant utilities operation experience is necessary.
  • Experience with operation and maintenance of utility subsystems including compressed air, water systems, electrical distribution, wastewater treatment, LPG, technical gases, pumps, compressors, chillers, or cooling systems is highly favored.

Technical Expertise

  • Demonstrated ability to operate and monitor diverse utility systems such as air, water, electricity, wastewater treatment, and other plant utilities by adhering to SOPs and operational limits.
  • Competency in conducting plant patrols, routine inspections, monitoring operational parameters, and generating precise shift reports.
  • Experience in supporting maintenance functions covering equipment isolation, tagging, shutdown processes, repair coordination, and post-maintenance start-up.
  • Skill in overseeing utility consumables including chemicals, spare parts, and raw materials to maintain seamless utility processes.
  • Proven troubleshooting abilities to manage abnormal utility behaviors and coordinate with maintenance teams to restore services promptly.
