Job description
Overview
Zenflow Aircon Private Limited is seeking a meticulous Quality Control (QC) Engineer to join their Quality Assurance and Quality Control team at the Saki Naka location, Mumbai. This full-time role focuses on ensuring that machined parts strictly adhere to dimensional, functional, and quality standards throughout production, thereby minimizing defects and rejections.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections including in-process, first-off, and final reviews of machined components based on engineering drawings and quality standards.
- Operate, calibrate, and manage precision measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height and bore gauges, dial indicators, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), and surface roughness testers.
- Analyze engineering drawings with emphasis on tolerances and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
- Document inspection findings and maintain quality records including Certificates of Conformance and Analysis.
- Identify defects or non-conformities, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and collaborate with production and engineering teams on root cause investigations.
- Monitor process parameters and contribute to the implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC) where relevant.
- Inspect incoming raw materials and verify supplier documentation, such as 3.1 Mill Test Certificates.
- Support internal and external ISO 9001 audits.
- Manage calibration schedules for measuring devices and testing equipments.
- Liaise with vendors handling outsourced processes like heat treatment and plating to confirm compliance with specifications.
- Help develop and update inspection and control plans along with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality concerns.
- Ensure proper cleanliness, packaging, and handling protocols for finished components are followed.
- Provide training for shop floor personnel on basic quality checks and standard operating procedures.
Candidate Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Up to 1 year of experience in quality control within machining or CNC manufacturing settings.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T principles, and measurement techniques.
- Hands-on familiarity with precision measuring tools and CMM operation is preferred.
- Knowledgeable about ISO 9001 quality management systems and documentation standards.
- Understanding of machining processes such as turning, milling, drilling, and grinding, including awareness of typical defects.
- Basic knowledge of material properties, heat treatment, and surface finishing methods like anodizing and plating is advantageous.
- Competent in using MS Excel and quality reporting applications.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
Desirable Expertise
- Experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and control plans.
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and root cause analysis techniques such as 5-Why, Fishbone diagrams, and 8D method.
- Exposure to quality requirements from sectors like automotive, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing.

Compensation and Benefits
The monthly remuneration ranges between INR 18,000 and 24,000. Additional benefits such as health insurance and provident fund may be provided.
