Quality Assurance Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to perform comprehensive system and integration tests, conduct sanity checks on development branches, and collaborate intimately with the developer team to ensure delivery of high-quality software. This position involves preparing systems for testing, executing both scripted and exploratory test cases, validating builds from the platform team, and diligently collecting test evidence.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up test systems and environments including installation, configuration, network arrangements, and provisioning test data.
• Obtain build artifacts and configurations from the platform team, integrate them, and conduct validation cycles.
• Perform scripted tests and exploratory testing for networked components and services.
• Carry out manual functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing.
• Collect logs and evidence to document defect reports clearly and ensure verification of fixes.
• Communicate test progress, associated risks, and readiness status effectively to stakeholders.

Requirements and Skills

• Solid understanding of networking principles such as TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, and packet capture and analysis.
• Proficiency in Linux operating systems, including installation, service management, networking tools, log examination, and shell scripting for environment setup and troubleshooting.
• Strong discipline in executing manual tests with meticulous evidence collection and defect reporting.
• Capability to interpret technical specifications and convert them into concrete test scenarios and checklists.

Preferred Skills

• Foundational knowledge of DevOps practices, including familiarity with CI/CD workflows, containerization, and infrastructure concepts for effective coordination with platform teams.
• Experience with issue tracking systems (e.g., Jira) and git-based workflows for accessing build artifacts and configurations.

Candidate Profile

• Experienced QA professional with hands-on exposure to Linux and networking environments.
• Comfortable using terminals and basic scripting to configure test environments and resolve issues.
• Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail and consistent follow-up.
• Collaborative and dependable team player, adaptable to working across multiple time zones.
• Fluent in English; additional languages considered advantageous.
