QA Python Automation Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned QA Python Automation Engineer based in Pune working in hybrid mode to lead the design and development of efficient test automation frameworks leveraging Python technologies like Robot Framework and PyTest.

Key Responsibilities

• Construct, enhance, and sustain resilient automation frameworks primarily using Python including Robot Framework and PyTest tools.
• Create and run automated test scripts covering Web applications, APIs, and backend systems.
• Prepare and maintain detailed test cases, scenarios, and required data to guarantee thorough testing coverage.
• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and comprehensive end-to-end testing activities.
• Automate REST API validations employing Python Requests, Postman, or related utilities.
• Seamlessly integrate automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
• Examine test outcomes carefully, report defects, and collaborate with developers for prompt issue resolution.
• Engage proactively in Agile/Scrum rituals such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Generate thorough test execution documentation and deliver quality-related metrics to stakeholders.
• Promote continuous improvements in automation coverage, quality assurance processes, and overall testing productivity.

Required Skills and Experience

• Between 6 to 9 years of software testing experience with a strong focus on Python-based automation.
• Proficiency in Python programming combined with practical use of Robot Framework and/or PyTest for automation purposes.
• Demonstrated track record in Web and API automation testing domains.
• Wide familiarity with REST APIs, Python Requests module, Postman, and API test validation approaches.
• Experience writing SQL queries and performing database validation as part of testing.
• Hands-on usage of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions for automated testing integration.
• Usage of version control systems like Git for source code management.
• Sound understanding and experience working within Agile/Scrum development models.
• Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to debug and resolve complex issues independently.
• Exceptional communication abilities and competence in managing stakeholder relationships effectively.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in domains such as Travel, Airlines, or Hospitality.
• Exposure to cloud environments including Azure and AWS.
• Knowledge of performance testing and test reporting frameworks.
• Familiarity with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks and contemporary testing methodologies.
