Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and proficient PYP Teacher to cover a maternity leave from 11 October to 17 December 2026. This role requires delivering inquiry-based, engaging instruction consistent with the IB PYP framework while ensuring learning continuity for the students during this period.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and conduct high-quality inquiry-led lessons aligned with the established Programme of Inquiry and current units of study.
• Quickly assimilate existing lesson plans to maintain the flow of education, classroom routines, and student interactions.
• Collaborate with grade-level peers, specialist educators, and the PYP Coordinator to foster student autonomy and transdisciplinary learning experiences.
• Evaluate, document, and report on student growth according to school policies, contributing to end-of-term reports.
• Maintain strong relationships with students and consistently communicate with parents to support student development.
• Establish and sustain a secure, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes learner wellbeing.
• Participate in broader school activities throughout the maternity cover tenure.

Candidate Profile

• Possession of a recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE/PGDE, or equivalent, along with a Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience teaching within the IB PYP framework is essential.
• Proven ability to deliver creative, well-structured, and engaging lessons effectively.
• Adaptability to integrate promptly into an existing class and teaching team.
• Familiarity with inquiry-based education and transdisciplinary lesson planning.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
• Proficiency in English at a native or near-native level.
• Available to start immediately; preference given to candidates currently residing in Qatar with the legal right to work.
