About the Role
Etqan Global Academy (EGA), located in Doha, Qatar, is seeking an experienced MYP Coordinator to lead the implementation and continual development of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme at our newly established IB World School. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining programme integrity, supporting teachers in effective delivery, and driving high standards of student achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation, and regular review of the IB Middle Years Programme in alignment with IB standards and practices.
- Manage all IB authorisation, evaluation, and self-study activities, serving as the primary contact with the IB organisation.
- Support, mentor, and develop MYP educators in programme delivery, unit planning, and assessment methods.
- Oversee the Personal Project process, facilitate service as action initiatives, and promote Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills development within the MYP.
- Lead moderation and standardisation of student assessments across all subject groups.
- Coordinate preparations for eAssessment and manage submissions for external moderation.
- Conduct MYP-focused staff professional development and encourage participation in Nord Anglia University programmes.
- Clearly communicate MYP expectations, student progress, and results to parents and the wider school community.
Candidate Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a recognised teaching qualification with classroom experience in an IB MYP school setting.
- Completed IB MYP workshop training at Category 1 or 2 level.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of MYP curriculum, assessment criteria, eAssessment, and Personal Project requirements.
- Understand IB programme standards, authorisation procedures, and best practices.
- Experience in an IB coordinator or curriculum leadership role is advantageous.
- Exhibit strong organisational, communication, and coaching capabilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
- Previous international school experience, preferably in the Middle East region, is desirable.
