PWHT Technician

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled PWHT Technician responsible for performing post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) on piping systems, pressure vessels, and structural elements to ensure mechanical integrity and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute both localized and furnace PWHT processes on various components.
• Prepare and install heaters, ceramic insulation pads, thermocouples, and set up control units for temperature management.
• Closely monitor heating phases including soak time, ramp-up rates, and controlled cooling as per procedural requirements.
• Operate specialized PWHT control panels, temperature recording instruments, and electrical transformers effectively.
• Analyze and interpret isometric drawings, heat treatment instructions, and client specifications accurately.
• Maintain precise heat treatment records and ensure calibration certificates for equipment remain valid.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections to verify equipment safety and functionality.
• Adhere strictly to company health, safety, and environmental regulations, including permit-to-work systems.
• Collaborate with welding teams, NDT personnel, supervisors, and clients throughout operations to ensure coordination and quality control.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 2 to 5 years experience carrying out PWHT activities within NDT, fabrication, or oil and gas sectors.
• Practical expertise with resistance heating apparatus, furnaces, and temperature regulation systems.
• Possession of a technical certificate or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related fields is preferred.
• Additional PWHT training or certification from an accredited institution is beneficial.
