Overview
Join Hilton as a Purchasing Manager or Assistant Purchasing Manager, where you will play a key role in creating exceptional guest experiences by managing and optimizing purchasing operations. This role involves developing and executing efficient purchasing strategies to ensure stable supply chains and cost-effective procurement aligned with hotel requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all procurement activities and manage general merchandise inventory to maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams such as chefs and hotel management to ensure purchases meet operational needs and quality standards.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, oversee ordering processes, and monitor timely delivery of goods.
- Conduct thorough quality checks of shipments to verify compliance with order specifications and required standards.
- Lead and motivate the procurement team, providing guidance, monitoring their performance, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, pricing volatility, and regulatory compliance.
- Analyze market trends to anticipate changes in pricing and supply dynamics, enabling informed purchasing decisions.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in purchasing or procurement, with preference for background in hotel or hospitality settings.
- Demonstrable expertise in supplier sourcing, negotiation, and relationship management focused on maintaining quality and cost effectiveness.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, procurement systems, and stock management.
- Experience handling budgeting, cost analysis, and tracking the performance of purchasing activities.
- Well-versed with local procurement legislation, health and safety guidelines, and sustainable practices.
- Excellent organizational skills paired with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while adapting to evolving operational requirements.
