About Shree Mahalaxmi Chemicals
Established in 1989, Shree Mahalaxmi Chemicals (SMC) is a reputed chemical trading firm based in Mumbai, India. Our ambition is to be a system-driven and innovative partner in the chemical trade industry, creating sustainable value for customers grounded in integrity and trust. As we expand from our new Mumbai office, we seek a talented and technologically adept Purchase Executive to enhance our procurement operations.
Role Overview
The Purchase Executive serves as the essential connection between SMC and its domestic and international network of chemical suppliers. You will oversee sourcing premium materials, negotiating competitive pricing by leveraging our solid cash position, ensuring timely receipt of goods, and maintaining impeccable digital records within our ERP platform.
Key Duties
- Strategically identify, assess, and onboard trustworthy suppliers and manufacturers for bulk industrial chemicals.
- Conduct assertive negotiations on pricing, delivery schedules, and favorable payment terms, capitalizing on the company’s strong liquidity to obtain volume discounts and advantages on cash purchases.
- Manage purchase orders end-to-end—from requisition to delivery—to prevent stock shortages and maintain optimal inventory.
- Maintain comprehensive digital records of all vendor interactions, pricing data, and procurement procedures within the company’s ERP system to support a fully system-led infrastructure.
- Coordinate with carriers, customs agents, and warehouses to facilitate efficient and cost-effective inward logistics of procured items.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure incoming chemicals comply with stringent quality standards and are accompanied by necessary documentation such as Certificates of Analysis (COA) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Monitor both domestic and global chemical price trends, raw material fluctuations, and supply chain challenges to provide management with insights for optimal procurement timing.
Qualifications & Experience
- 2 to 5 years of procurement experience specifically within chemical trading or chemical manufacturing sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of bulk chemical pricing mechanisms and vendor networks both in India and internationally.
- Proficiency in ERP systems with actual hands-on experience; a mindset geared towards automation of workflows.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills to cultivate durable vendor relationships while safeguarding company margins.
- Excellent organizational skills; highly process-oriented and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, digital business environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Supply Chain Management, or related disciplines; additional credentials in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering are advantageous.
