Pulpit Operator

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated full-time Pulpit Operator to oversee and manage production activities at a steel plant in Qatar. This role involves operating and supervising the plant's production processes from the control room, ensuring efficient and safe plant operations in compliance with established standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and continuously monitor various steel production processes using the control room's systems.
• Track and analyze equipment status, production parameters, alarms, and operational conditions via control interfaces.
• Coordinate production tasks and manage workflow according to approved procedures and set goals.
• Maintain vigilance over critical process variables such as temperature, pressure, flow, speed, and output rates.
• Collaborate with on-site field operators, maintenance staff, and supervisory personnel to facilitate smooth operations.
• Detect and respond to any abnormal conditions, equipment malfunctions, or process irregularities promptly.
• Initiate, halt, or adjust machinery and equipment in line with operational demands and safety norms.
• Keep detailed and precise records of production logs, operating activities, and routine shift reports.
• Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures, quality control standards, and plant safety policies.
• Act swiftly to alarms and emergencies, coordinating corrective measures as necessary.
• Focus on maintaining continuous, uninterrupted, and effective steel production processes.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in steel production or related industries.
• Proficient knowledge in production engineering, process control, process engineering, and manufacturing operations management.
• Familiar with manufacturing engineering principles and various production processes.
