About the Role

Join a dynamic and client-focused team at APM in Timaru, New Zealand, where your expertise as a psychologist will make a significant impact. We are committed to delivering exceptional service to a diverse clientele, supporting mental health across multiple settings. This role offers flexible engagements including full-time, part-time, or subcontractor positions with a minimum commitment of two days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a clinical caseload averaging 6.5 hours of client contact daily.
• Work across varied contracts such as ACC contracts encompassing Sensitive Claims, Psychological Services, Training for Independence, Pain Management Services, policing referrals, and private cases.
• Provide evidence-based talking therapies using methods like CBT, EMDR, DBT, Schema Therapy, ACT, among others.
• Perform thorough clinical assessments and prepare detailed reports of high quality.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic treatment plans.
• For clinical and neuropsychologists, deliver or develop neuropsychological assessment services.

Qualifications & Professional Requirements

• Possess a New Zealand Psychology Board (NZPB) accredited Master’s degree or higher in Psychology.
• Registration with the Psychologists Board of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practicing Certificate are mandatory before commencement.
• Membership with the New Zealand Psychological Society or The New Zealand College for Clinical Psychologists.
• Demonstrated skills in diagnostic frameworks such as DSM-5-TR or ICD 10/11 and training in psychopathology.
• Clinical or neuropsychologist registration required for neuropsychological assessment roles, with graduate coursework in Neuropsychology for clinical psychologists.

• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
• Strong time management and ability to work independently with effective task prioritization.
• Current full New Zealand driver’s license and valid work visa or citizenship (NZ/AU).
