About the Role

Join the Auckland Prison Intervention and Support Practice team as a Psychologist, providing specialist assessment, formulation, and intervention for individuals facing significant mental health challenges. You'll manage psychological assessments, design treatment and support plans, and facilitate individual and group therapy sessions. The role involves working with clients exhibiting trauma-related issues, personality disorders, emotional distress, self-harm risks, and other complex conditions.

You’ll collaborate closely with health professionals, custodial staff, case managers, and external agencies to promote effective mental health care and risk management in the correctional environment. Your insights and recommendations will be pivotal in guiding staff responses to mental health concerns and ensuring safety within the facility.

This position offers a blend of direct clinical practice, consultation, case management, and multidisciplinary teamwork, supported by regular clinical and cultural supervision and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Candidate Profile

We seek a registered psychologist who thrives on handling intricate cases and applying advanced assessment and intervention skills within a multidisciplinary setting. Your ability to foster relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders is essential.

Benefits

The salary ranges from NZD 83,286 to 133,370 per year, with level of appointment based on clinical expertise and experience. Additional benefits include:
