Role Overview

This full-time, on-site psychiatric position based in Doha requires conducting thorough psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing mental health disorders, and formulating individualized treatment plans using both medication and psychotherapy. Daily duties include managing follow-up visits, tracking patient progress, accurately documenting clinical information, and coordinating with other healthcare providers. The role encompasses crisis management, patient and family education regarding mental health, and active participation in multi-disciplinary meetings. The psychiatrist must follow clinical standards, protect patient privacy, and support continuous enhancements in service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a medical degree (MD or equivalent) with specialized psychiatric training and a valid or eligible license to practice in Qatar.
• Experience in adult and/or child and adolescent psychiatry, including comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of diverse psychiatric conditions.
• Expertise in psychotherapy methods, psychopharmacology, and risk assessment to handle complex and co-occurring disorders.
• Competency in maintaining detailed clinical records, interpreting diagnostic tests, and utilizing electronic medical record platforms.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities enabling effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams and with varied patient demographics.
• Dedication to ethical standards, patient-focused care, professional growth, and complying with local healthcare regulations and accreditation.
• Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are considered a plus but not mandatory.
• Prior experience in hospital or medical center environments within the Gulf region or equivalent healthcare setting is desirable.
