Key Responsibilities

• Run regular outpatient cardiology clinics assessing and managing patients with diverse cardiovascular disorders such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart diseases, and cardiomyopathies.
• Deliver cardiovascular risk evaluation and preventive cardiology services, including pre-operative cardiac assessments.
• Respond to inpatient and emergency cardiology referrals, handle acute cardiac emergencies like acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, and hypertensive crises, and assist in ICU/HDU management.
• Take part in the hospital's on-call roster to provide emergency cardiology consultations and facilitate referrals or transfers for advanced interventional procedures as needed.
• Perform and interpret various non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures, including 12-lead ECG, 2D and color Doppler echocardiography, treadmill tests, Holter monitoring, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
• Maintain adherence to evidence-based clinical guidelines, hospital protocols, and safety standards including meticulous documentation, informed consent, infection control, and medication safety.
• Engage in clinical governance activities such as audits, mortality and morbidity reviews, and quality improvement initiatives to support accreditation processes like NABH.
• Contribute to the development and expansion of the Cardiology Department by establishing clinical pathways, preventive cardiology programs, community screenings, health camps, and educational sessions for healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate with visiting interventional cardiologists and tertiary cardiac centers to enhance patient care.

Qualifications and Experience

• MBBS degree from an accredited institution.
• Postgraduate qualification: MD or DNB in General Medicine, or equivalent.
• DM Cardiology, DrNB Cardiology, or an equivalent specialist cardiology certification recognized by regulatory authorities.
• Valid medical license as per local regulatory requirements.
• Previous independent clinical experience in cardiology outpatient care, inpatient cardiac management, emergency cardiology, and non-invasive diagnostics is highly desirable.
