Project Sales Specialist

About the Role

The Project Sales Specialist will serve as the vital link in field-level project execution, supporting the Engineering Manager through daily onsite coordination, customer engagement, logistical tracking, documentation handling, and site assistance. This position ensures smooth implementation of project activities on the ground to enable higher-level strategic management and client negotiations by the Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Regularly visit engineering customers, contractors, project offices, and construction sites to support field activities.
• Assist the Engineering Manager by delivering and collecting critical documents such as invoices, statements, contracts, quotations, product literature, and samples, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to correct contacts.
• Maintain professional customer relationships and manage simple communications to relay information and feedback.
• Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure proper vehicle allocation, loading, dispatch, delivery tracking, and timely resolution of delivery-related issues; obtain and maintain proper delivery documentation.
• Collaborate closely with the Customer Service Supervisor to synchronize online support and field operations, including order tracking, enquiries, and providing field-based updates and reports.
• Conduct site visits for basic inspections, verify delivery quantities, document product damages with photos and detailed records, and assist in claim-related processes.
• Manage the delivery and collection of samples and company documents confidentially, securing acknowledgements where required.
• Gather market intelligence during field visits about competitor products, pricing, project developments, construction progress, and customer preferences, especially focusing on tile and building materials competitors.
• Provide comprehensive field reports covering visit purposes, activities performed, documents exchanged, delivery statuses, site observations, client feedback, damage and competitor findings, and any follow-up actions with photographic evidence.
• Support relationship building with engineering clients and project teams, communicating customer requests accurately internally, while refraining from unauthorized commercial commitments and escalating sensitive matters.
• Perform additional field and administrative tasks as assigned by the Engineering Manager, including participating in meetings, product launches, exhibitions, and other related activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain, Construction, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Professional certifications in relevant fields are advantageous.
• Experience in sales support, customer service, order assistance, field/project coordination, and logistics is preferred, especially with building materials, construction, ceramics, engineering, or real estate sectors.
• Background working with Chinese-funded enterprises or clients is a notable advantage.
• Fresh graduates with excellent communication skills, strong organization, and a readiness to work in field settings will also be considered.

Language Skills

• Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is essential.
• Kiswahili language skills are necessary to communicate effectively with local clients and service providers.
• Chinese language ability is highly preferred, facilitating communication with the Chinese Engineering Manager and Chinese clients.

Mobility and Working Conditions

• Based in Nairobi and requiring frequent travel to customer locations, construction sites, warehouses, and other project venues using public transport or other vehicles.
• Possession of a valid driving license is advantageous.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours based on project demands.
