Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Project Quantity Surveyor to become part of our commercial team, working on a significant construction project located in Westport, County Mayo. The appointed individual will collaborate with a Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Director, enjoying clear career advancement pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all commercial and contractual matters from project initiation through to final account settlement.
- Develop and manage project budgets, including cost planning, cash flow forecasting, and detailed cost reporting.
- Evaluate subcontractor works by measuring and valuing progress and prepare interim valuations accordingly.
- Handle procurement of subcontractors and suppliers by managing tendering and negotiating processes.
- Review, negotiate, and finalize variations, change orders, and final accounts.
- Track project expenditures closely, identifying potential areas to enhance value and improve commercial outcomes.
- Compile monthly commercial reports and projections for senior leadership.
- Collaborate effectively with Project Managers, site teams, clients, and design teams to ensure project success.
- Maintain accurate commercial documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Champion safe, timely, budget-conscious, and quality-driven project delivery.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a closely related field.
- Between 3 to 5 years of Quantity Surveying experience in the construction industry.
- Background in residential, commercial, healthcare, education, or industrial construction projects.
- Thorough knowledge of construction contracts and commercial project management.
- Strong commercial insight coupled with negotiation and analytical prowess.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial management software.
- Experience with construction projects in Ireland is essential.
