Job description
Role Overview
We invite a seasoned Project Quantity Surveyor to become part of our team based in Maynooth, County Kildare. This role is pivotal in ensuring the fiscal success of a major construction initiative by overseeing comprehensive financial management, supervising subcontractors, and maintaining stringent cost controls.
Primary Duties
- Oversee the project's financial health via budgeting, forecasting, cost oversight, and tracking expenses against set budgets.
- Drive subcontractor-related processes including procurement, negotiations, progress evaluations, valuations, and payment administration.
- Compile and maintain detailed commercial reports, financial analyses, and project performance summaries for upper management.
- Manage contractual obligations including handling variations, claims, change management, and final account settlements.
- Recognize, evaluate, and mitigate commercial risks safeguarding project goals and profitability.
- Coordinate with clients, design teams, partners, and internal teams to align financial goals with project milestones and deliverables.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related equivalent qualification.
- Between 4 and 7 years of experience in civil engineering or commercial construction projects.
- Proficient in cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting, and overall project cost management.
- Good grasp of contract administration and up-to-date main contract conditions.
- Strong commercial insight with solid financial and accounting knowledge.
- Excellent analytical capabilities and keen attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication abilities, both written and verbal, facilitating strong collaboration across project teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
- Chartered status or in the process of obtaining SCSI Chartership.
- Previous involvement with large infrastructure or design-and-build projects.
- Familiarity with financial management platforms such as Candy Estimating System and IFS.
- Hands-on experience with Candy Estimating Software for project estimation.
