Project Planner / PMO

Position Overview

Join CGI as a Project Planner and play a crucial role in ensuring the success of a high-profile programme based in Aberdeen. You'll take responsibility for creating and maintaining a comprehensive, reliable programme schedule that provides senior leaders with the insights needed to make critical delivery decisions.

Using your expertise in Microsoft Project, you will rigorously validate the critical path, scrutinize planning assumptions, and explore different schedule and resource allocation scenarios to reinforce the programme's commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Construct, consolidate, and update the integrated programme-level schedule using Microsoft Project.
• Lead planning efforts to develop a robust and credible schedule baseline that supports decision-making at the senior level.
• Analyze schedule logic, milestones, dependencies, and assumptions to identify inconsistencies or risks that may impact delivery.
• Conduct critical-path analysis to pinpoint activities and resource constraints that could affect key programme milestones.
• Stress test schedules by modeling risks and alternative delivery scenarios to forecast possible impacts on programme targets.
• Evaluate resource availability and capacity against the schedule to identify potential bottlenecks and advise on their implications.
• Collaborate closely with Programme Managers, project managers, workstream leads, and other stakeholders to gather, challenge, and validate planning information.
• Translate complex scheduling data into clear, actionable insights that assist senior stakeholders in making informed decisions.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Considerable experience in project or programme planning, scheduling, or PMO environments.
• Advanced hands-on expertise in Microsoft Project, capable of developing and managing sophisticated integrated schedules.
• Demonstrated skill in establishing, validating, and maintaining credible schedule baselines.
• Deep understanding of schedule logic, dependencies, milestones, and critical-path analysis techniques.
• Experience performing risk and scenario analysis to evaluate the effects of delivery challenges or alternative timelines.
• Proficiency in assessing resource plans against schedules and identifying capacity constraints or bottlenecks.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Programme Managers and senior workstream leads.
• Analytical capabilities to challenge assumptions, recognize planning issues early, and communicate risks and recommendations clearly.
• Well organized, dependable, with a structured approach and the ability to manage critical planning outputs under tight deadlines.

Work Arrangement

This position is based in Aberdeen and requires a minimum presence of three days per week onsite.
