Project Manager – Smart Water Metering, AMI & LoRaWAN

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Project Manager to oversee the comprehensive execution of Smart Water Metering, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)/Automatic Meter Reading (AMR), and LoRaWAN projects. This role involves supervision from initial site surveys through installation, commissioning, and network deployment phases to project closure.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and drive end-to-end project delivery for smart water metering systems and related technologies including AMI/AMR and LoRaWAN networks.
• Plan and organize site surveys, manage meter installation, testing, system commissioning, and network rollout tasks.
• Collaborate effectively with clients, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), installation personnel, system integrators, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project progress.
• Track project milestones, schedules, and deliverables to ensure adherence and timely completion.
• Manage field teams and resources to optimize installation efforts and meet deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety protocols, project specifications, and contract terms.
• Oversee meter-related activities including installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning to guarantee functionality and integration success.
• Supervise implementation and optimization of LoRaWAN gateways, network infrastructure, and communication systems critical to project operations.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical problems, communication issues, and challenges encountered during site activities.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor on-field activities to maintain quality and standards.
• Maintain meticulous documentation including installation records, test and commissioning reports, project files, and all necessary records.
• Create and share detailed progress reports, management information systems (MIS), dashboards, and milestone updates with both management and clients.
• Partner with OEMs and technical teams to troubleshoot hardware, firmware, communication, and integration concerns.
• Adhere strictly to approved drawings, technical specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and client requirements throughout execution.
• Track and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks proactively by implementing corrective actions.
• Support client site inspections, testing procedures, acceptance processes, and formal project handovers.
• Ensure all project milestones are met on schedule and drive initiatives towards successful project completion.
• Facilitate a seamless project handoff to the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) teams following project finalization.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering disciplines such as Electrical, Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation, Civil, Mechanical, Computer Science, IT, or similar fields.
• Three to five years of relevant experience in smart water metering, AMI/AMR projects, LoRaWAN or IoT deployments, smart city projects, water utility infrastructure, electrical or utility metering, or large-scale field installation and commissioning projects.

Skills and Competencies

• In-depth understanding of smart water metering systems, AMI, and AMR technologies.
• Familiarity with LoRaWAN communication protocols and network design.
• Practical experience in meter installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of smart metering communication gateways, sensors, and data integration methods.
• Strong project management abilities including planning, execution, and coordination skills.
• Capability to lead field teams and handle multiple project workstreams simultaneously.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving aptitude.
• Sound knowledge of quality assurance, safety standards, and project documentation requirements.
• Effective communication skills to manage various stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project reporting tools.
• Willingness and availability to travel frequently to project sites as needed.
