We are seeking an experienced Project Manager passionate about leading digital transformation projects within the public sector. This role is based in Edinburgh and offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining office presence with remote flexibility. You will take full accountability for managing digital projects from initiation to completion, acting as the key liaison between clients and delivery teams.

Storm ID is a distinguished digital consultancy based in Edinburgh, specialising in accelerating digital, data, and AI adoption across the Scottish and UK public and private sectors. Our focus is on cultivating long-lasting, impactful client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end management of digital projects applying appropriate methodologies such as agile, waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
  • Partner with clients to gather requirements, communicate progress transparently, and align expectations consistently.
  • Oversee project budgets, forecasts, time tracking, and change control to ensure commercial viability and escalate risks early when necessary.
  • Maintain and manage project scope, risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies actively through RAID logs to prevent blockers.
  • Lead, motivate, and guide multidisciplinary teams including designers, engineers, and testers toward successful project outcomes.
  • Keep project tracking accurate using tools like Azure DevOps and Float; generate comprehensive delivery highlight reports for stakeholders.
  • Support quality assurance activities, coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and assist with go-live and transition into business as usual or warranty phases.
  • Participate in lessons learned sessions, promote delivery excellence, and mentor junior team members.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience delivering digital projects from start to finish across varied sectors.
  • Strong familiarity with agile, waterfall, and hybrid project management techniques with the judgment to select the best fit.
  • Ability to manage financial aspects including budgets and forecasts accurately.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills with a professional, solution-oriented approach to challenges.
  • Competence in risk and issue management with a focus on maintaining project momentum.
  • Fluent communicator capable of addressing clients and internal teams confidently.
  • Organised, detail-focused, and able to juggle multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in leveraging AI tools to automate routines and enhance productivity and output quality.

Additional Information

Storm ID values diverse perspectives and encourages applications from individuals who may not meet every listed qualification but are keen to contribute unique insights. The role reports directly to the Head of PMO and requires candidates to be based in Edinburgh with a willingness to attend the office a few days weekly.
