Job description

Position Summary

The Project Manager role involves overseeing all phases of project execution, including planning, coordination, monitoring, and delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder requirements. This position serves as the main liaison connecting internal teams, clients, vendors, consultants, and senior management to guarantee clear communication and accountability throughout the project lifecycle. The role demands proactive identification of risks, efficient resource management, and maintaining project quality, budget, and schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from initiation through planning, execution, monitoring, and formal closure.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals, scope, success criteria, assumptions, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Create and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, work breakdowns, resource allocations, budgets, and timelines.
  • Coordinate activities across departments, technical teams, external consultants, contractors, suppliers, and partners.
  • Set priorities, assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure teams understand objectives and deadlines.
  • Track progress relative to milestones, budgets, deliverables, and performance metrics.
  • Identify risks, issues, dependencies, and schedule threats; devise mitigation and contingency plans; escalate critical concerns as needed.
  • Manage scope changes, evaluating their impacts on cost, resources, schedule, and quality.
  • Oversee budgeting, expenditure tracking, forecasting, procurement, and cost control in collaboration with finance and stakeholders.
  • Handle procurement processes including supplier selection, contracting, purchase orders, and vendor management.
  • Foster effective stakeholder communication using meetings, updates, presentations, reports, and reviews.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, sponsors, vendors, and stakeholders, addressing concerns and managing expectations.
  • Facilitate project meetings, document decisions and actions, ensure timely follow-ups and issue escalations.
  • Ensure deliverables comply with specifications, standards, contracts, and organizational quality benchmarks.
  • Coordinate testing, approvals, commissioning, and formal handover or deployment activities as applicable.
  • Keep comprehensive project documentation including plans, risk logs, meeting minutes, change requests, budgets, reports, and lessons learned.
  • Provide regular status and financial reports to management outlining milestones, risks, resource needs, and pending actions.
  • Resolve capacity, scheduling, or dependency conflicts to maintain project delivery momentum.
  • Collaborate with business, operations, finance, procurement, IT, engineering, sales, and marketing teams as required by the project.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, governance, regulatory standards, safety guidelines, and contractual commitments.
  • Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and enhancing project management processes.
  • Lead project closure including acceptance, documentation, financial closeout, and post-project evaluations.
  • Provide leadership, motivation, and accountability to project teams fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, IT, Construction Management, Operations, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects in environments such as operations, engineering, construction, technology, or related sectors.
  • Deep understanding of project planning, scheduling, scope, resource management, budgeting, risk mitigation, quality oversight, and governance frameworks.
  • Experience delivering projects end-to-end from initiation to closure.
  • Proven skills in developing comprehensive project plans with schedules, milestones, dependencies, and resource assignments.
  • Competence in identifying and managing risks, issues, change requests, and escalation processes.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, presentation, and resolution abilities.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities, cross-functional teams, deadlines, and project dependencies simultaneously.
  • Commercial acumen, including budget monitoring, procurement, contracting, and vendor performance oversight.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and project reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with project management applications like Microsoft Project, Primavera, Jira, Asana, Monday.com, or Smartsheet is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, hybrid, or other structured project management approaches is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently, handle pressure, proactively resolve challenges, and sustain momentum.
  • Professional certifications like PMP, PRINCE2, CAPM, Agile, or Scrum are considered a plus.
  • Excellent English communication skills suited for interactions with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • High standards of professionalism, accountability, attention to detail, adaptability, and commitment to project success.
