Role Overview

The Project Manager supports the Senior Project Manager in overseeing renewable energy projects through to successful construction completion in Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Lightsource bp's and relevant country’s health, safety, and environmental regulations during all phases of construction.
• Manage all construction-related tasks for renewable energy projects, from initial groundwork to commissioning and final completion.
• Foster strong collaboration between the New Zealand and Australian teams and engage with global stakeholders to support business growth.
• Deliver construction status reports to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Implement and maintain effective project management systems and controls aligned with best practices.
• Collaborate with the Tendering and Contracts team to facilitate optimal selection of EPC and Network Service Provider contractors from the request for proposal stage through contract negotiations and final decisions.
• Promote close interaction between the business development and asset management departments.
• Develop and monitor project budgets and timelines, ensuring adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all projects meet applicable permit conditions and contractual requirements.
• Manage smooth project handovers from construction to operations with early engagement of operations teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with formal construction-related project management qualifications.
• At least 5 years of experience in the renewable energy and construction industry, ideally with an EPC, NSP, or similar company.
• Solid understanding of the renewable energy sector constraints in Australia and New Zealand.
• Experience managing renewable energy projects connected to both medium voltage and high voltage networks.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and construction industry procedures.
• Proven experience handling large-scale renewable projects exceeding 50MW, including managing Tier 1 contractors and various contract execution methods like EPC, D&C, and split contracts.
• Strong professional relationships with EPCs and NSPs throughout design and construction phases.
• Full valid driving license.
