Role Overview

The Project Estimator role offers an opportunity for experienced builders desiring to transition into home-based work or those currently in builders merchant branches to leverage their costing expertise and building knowledge. Your mission will be to convert construction plans into detailed, costed estimates covering materials, plant, and labor utilizing our internal systems. Collaboration with clients and internal units ensures proposals are accurate, commercially viable, and meet client requirements, paving the way for profitable and top-quality project deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage estimations confidently for various projects such as extensions, renovations, loft conversions, standard new builds, and barn conversions.
• Develop robust relationships by collaborating effectively with customers, service and sales teams, and local offices, showcasing superior communication skills.
• Coordinate with external suppliers to obtain technical assistance ensuring all estimates are precise.
• Promptly address technical queries from sites, aiding problem-solving and updating estimates, reports, and procedures as needed.
• Efficiently perform administrative responsibilities related to estimation, amendments, and material scheduling.
• Prepare estimates and pricing proposals using internal Core programs like Raptor and Planswift, with full training provided.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated estimating experience in extensions, renovations, loft conversions, new builds, and barn conversions.
• Fundamental understanding of building regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and structural specifications.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Access, Word, and Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, both internally and externally.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Well-organized with the capability to manage personal workload effectively.
