Project Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive Project Engineer to oversee the construction of residential apartments in Jigani, Bangalore. This hands-on role involves managing the site through to the handover phase, ensuring smooth work sequencing, contractor coordination, quality assurance, and snag resolution. Unlike document management roles, this position requires demonstrated experience in successfully handing over completed flats.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan project timelines and develop weekly work schedules, coordinating the order of trades and ensuring adherence.
• Supervise site operations by leading civil and electrical-plumbing-finishes supervisors, assigning daily tasks and verifying work completion.
• Interpret and manage structural, architectural, and MEP drawings, resolving any design conflicts with consultants prior to commencement.
• Issue and manage work orders for contractors, establish rates and deliverables in writing, and accurately measure and certify contractor bills.
• Enforce stringent quality control measures including use of checklists, conducting tests, obtaining sign-offs before coverage of work, and resolving snags efficiently.
• Manage cost control by overseeing material requisitions, inventory, consumption versus estimates, and labor attendance relative to output.
• Maintain site safety protocols encompassing PPE, scaffolding, edge protections, and housekeeping standards to ensure a safe working environment.
• Document site progress through daily updates in the site application, including photos, measurements, and decisions.
• Prepare flats and communal spaces for inspections and facilitate smooth customer handovers.
• Provide weekly updates on project progress, costs, and risks directly to the owner.

Working Conditions

Work schedule is Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 6 pm onsite in Bangalore.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience working on residential construction sites.
• At least 3 years experience specifically overseeing multi-storey apartment projects through completion and handover phases.
