Project Director

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead and oversee the execution of large-scale infrastructure projects valued at over SAR 1 billion in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves managing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, and delivering projects that exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all phases of construction, managing multiple departments to guarantee seamless project delivery, timely milestone achievement, and successful handover.
• Formulate and implement strategic plans for executing large capital infrastructure projects effectively.
• Maintain strong and productive relationships with clients, building trust and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Fulfill all technical and commercial obligations as stipulated in the project contract.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate program risks and contingencies to maintain project stability.
• Oversee the performance of Project Managers by delegating responsibility and monitoring outcomes.
• Lead the team towards meeting departmental objectives by setting clear individual goals, tracking progress, and fostering motivation and development.
• Develop, consolidate, and recommend project budgets, while monitoring financial performance against plans to identify variances and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure departmental and project policies, procedures, and controls adhere to relevant legislative and procedural standards, delivering quality and cost-effective service consistently.
• Regularly monitor Quality, Safety, and Environmental (QSE) aspects of projects, including conducting monthly site visits.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Civil Engineering) from a recognized institution; a Master's degree is highly desirable.
• Fluent in both Arabic and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Over 25 years of professional project management experience in fast-paced, dynamic environments, including at least 10 years working in the Middle East.
• Proven leadership on major infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, flyovers, underpasses, landscaping/hardscaping, utilities, drainage, MEP special systems, and public realm works.
• Minimum of 15 years in senior management or director roles with a track record of delivering large capital projects on time, scope, and budget.
• Experienced in managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders effectively.
• Strong ability to lead and organize large multinational teams.
• Comprehensive understanding of regulatory bodies, committees, and governing frameworks within Saudi Arabia.
