Project Director - Data Center Construction

Position Overview

An established global construction group is looking for a skilled Project Director to take charge of major hyperscale data center projects in Saudi Arabia. This role offers a chance to contribute to a swiftly growing branch managing some of the Middle East's largest mission-critical infrastructure developments. The chosen candidate will lead extensive project phases, directing diverse teams to ensure successful construction and delivery milestones are met.

Primary Responsibilities

• Drive the execution of major hyperscale data center construction projects.
• Coordinate project activities throughout designated program phases.
• Maintain oversight of operational effectiveness, delivery timelines, and key project benchmarks.
• Build and guide high-performance project teams.
• Assist with hiring and mentoring personnel involved in project delivery.
• Collaborate closely with senior regional leadership to guarantee project success.
• Manage relationships with senior stakeholders including clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Candidate Profile

Essential Experience:

• Extensive background in data center construction projects.
• Demonstrated ability managing hyperscale data center deliveries.
• Successful track record of projects exceeding $300 million in value.
• Exceptional leadership qualities and communication skills.
• Experience overseeing large, multidisciplinary teams.
• Previous professional involvement in the Middle East, preferably Saudi Arabia.

Desirable Qualities:

• Background as a General Contractor (GC).
• Experience managing broad hyperscale construction programs.
• Proven capability to establish and expand project teams.
• Established network within the mission-critical construction sector.

Leadership Responsibilities

The successful applicant will lead a significant team, directly supervising approximately ten individuals, including senior managers, commissioning managers, and site leadership personnel.

Location and Relocation

• Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
• Relocation assistance is provided.
• Preference for candidates with prior Middle East project experience.
