Role Overview
We are seeking a diligent and organised Project Coordinator to assist with engineering and vessel-related projects across the organisation. The role involves providing crucial support to Marine Engineering operations through project coordination, administration, procurement assistance, documentation management, cost tracking, and liaising with various internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing project proposals, budgeting, cash flow analysis, and scheduling.
- Organise and coordinate project meetings, document minutes, and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, workers’ hours, and expenses.
- Manage purchasing tasks such as issuing purchase orders, sourcing parts, tracking delivery schedules, pricing management, and resolving supplier invoices.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate project records including close-out documentation.
- Support development of business cases and compile necessary parts lists.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with engineering teams, vessel personnel, purchasing, finance, health and safety, contractors, and service providers.
- Contribute to Sealord’s high standards for health, safety, quality, and compliance.
- Travel as needed to support vessel and engineering projects throughout Sealord's operations.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is practical, detailed oriented, and organised, comfortable juggling multiple tasks and collaborating across various teams. They should possess strong communication skills, be proactive, and have a flexible approach to changing priorities.
Required Skills and Experience
- Excellent financial acumen coupled with administration and coordination abilities demonstrating precision and numerical accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Adaptability to shifting priorities and a proactive mindset.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills supporting relationship building.
- A keen willingness to learn and engage.
- A dedicated approach to health, safety, and continuous improvement.
Previous experience assisting project managers, marine or engineering sector exposure, or familiarity with Microsoft Project software is a plus but not mandatory.
Additional Information
This position requires notifying and getting approval from your Line Manager before applying, and candidates should have been in their current position for at least 12 months. Internal applications close two weeks from the job posting date unless specified otherwise.
