About the Role
BAE Systems Australia is inviting applications for multiple Project Controls Professionals to join their enterprise. These roles are open to individuals at various experience levels and can be based at any location with flexible and hybrid work arrangements, including remote work and a nine-day fortnight schedule.
In this position, you will employ the company's Earned Value Management (EVM) tools such as Cobra, Primavera P6, and Oracle to support Project Management by providing insights on project cost, schedule performance, and risk assessments. The role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders to become a trusted part of the project team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist other Project Planning and Controls (PP&C) professionals by leveraging expertise in specialist tools including Primavera P6, Cobra, and Oracle.
- Support development and upkeep of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and their associated dictionaries.
- Help establish and maintain approved Project Management Baselines (PMB) for cost and schedule.
- Manage and process any approved changes to project baselines.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of control account structures and Responsibility Assignment Matrices (RAM).
- Perform detailed planning activities such as rolling wave planning and development of Control Account Plans (CAP).
- Participate in monthly report preparation by collecting actuals, status updates, Estimates to Complete (ETC), and conducting in-depth variance analysis per the business cycle.
- Assist Estimate at Completion (EAC) processes and advise Control Account Managers (CAMs) during their inputs and consolidation of comprehensive program data.
- Support Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBR) and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) surveillance as directed by the PP&C Manager.
- Ensure adherence to Earned Value Management standards, processes, and systems to facilitate timely, accurate project monitoring and performance measurement.
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience as a Project Controller or Cost Schedule Analyst is mandatory.
- Proficient in cost management utilizing COBRA software.
- Experienced in project scheduling and planning with Primavera P6.
- Preference given to candidates with combined skills in cost management and scheduling.
- Solid understanding of Earned Value Management principles.
- Capable of engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill business objectives.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and resolve issues proactively.
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain a current Defence security clearance.
