Job description
About the Team
The Market Risk Management (MRM) team focuses on addressing risks emerging from the interaction between global safety frameworks and the unique political, regulatory, and cultural contexts of various regions. By leveraging market-specific data alongside cross-functional insights, the team crafts strategies to handle Trust & Safety risks, protect users, and maintain effective global safety standards across different markets.
Role Overview
As a Program Manager within the Market Risk Management team, your responsibility will be identifying and evaluating risks within regional communities, working collaboratively across teams to mitigate emerging threats. You will ensure that policies, programs, and systems jointly protect users and prevent abuse, particularly focusing on the Bangladesh market and the broader APAC region. Your expertise will guide improvements in safety measures and strategic directions, fostering trust inside and beyond the Trust and Safety department. The role involves initiating and leading projects, driving operational enhancements, advocating for policy updates, and establishing new processes. You will coordinate with experts from public policy, legal, communications, product, operations, and policy functions to achieve these goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate internal reports analyzing public perceptions and identified risks to guide mitigation strategies and detect trends, enabling cross-functional collaboration to develop effective solutions reducing emerging risks across business lines.
- Design risk prevention strategies and processes tailored to the Bangladesh market on TikTok platforms, addressing safety concerns including youth safety, hate speech, and cyberbullying.
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders across Trust & Safety and other departments such as Content Policy, Product Management, Data Analytics, Operations, Public Policy, and Communications. Identify, assess, and resolve safety-related gaps or product issues to advance community well-being and user safety while optimizing product features and strategies.
- Work on multiple platform features including Video, Live streams, comments, follows/likes, and account management using both qualitative and quantitative methods to detect community risks and develop features and procedures to mitigate them. Lead project definitions, scoping, implementation, and execution in coordination with cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of User Generated Content (UGC) social platforms and an understanding of APAC's political, regulatory, and cultural landscapes.
- Fluency in Bengali language, both oral and written, essential for covering Bengali-speaking markets.
- Strong awareness of Trust & Safety challenges and operational aspects.
- Experience in program, project, or product management, preferably within safety, risk control, or anti-spam strategy domains, demonstrating excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in handling large datasets with capabilities in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting using Excel tools such as Pivot Tables, Functions, and Charts; familiarity with SQL is an advantage.
- Adept at working in fast-paced environments, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to daily challenges.
- Practices resilience and prioritizes self-care to manage the psychological and emotional demands of the role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise and cultural knowledge of the APAC region.
- Minimum of three years’ experience handling Trust & Safety matters and user-generated content platforms.
Additional Information - Trust & Safety Context
