Product Security Validation Specialist - Global Security Organization

The Global Security Organization (GSO) at TikTok is dedicated to establishing trust by minimizing risk and securing both its products and business operations across the globe, protecting a user base exceeding one billion. The team safeguards the TikTok platform from internal and external threats, ensuring compliance with international regulations wherever TikTok operates.

Security is fundamental to TikTok’s mission of building trustworthy user experiences, whether through video engagement, live interactions, or e-commerce on TikTok Shop.

The SecOps Validation Team (STOV) plays a pivotal role in managing tools and technologies that underlie TikTok’s infrastructure. STOV leads technical validation, security operations, and drives engineering improvements, including deploying and maintaining security technologies across multiple domains.

This position specializes in designing and implementing technical controls for product security required by policies and regulations. The scope covers product security for TikTok's product range and the Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes. The role includes managing the Large Language Model (LLM) based product security validation system and maintaining a comprehensive security knowledge base.

Key Responsibilities

• Refine and optimize the AI-driven product security validation platform to ensure outputs are secure, dependable, and compliant with policies.
• Develop and enhance prompt engineering techniques to reduce AI hallucinations and minimize erroneous results.
• Operate and maintain AI-based security requirements generation systems, defining benchmarks and metrics to assess output quality for product teams.
• Expand and curate the security knowledge base with up-to-date threat intelligence, compliance criteria, and best security practices.
• Verify system-generated requirements to confirm alignment with recognized security practices, compliance mandates, and TikTok’s security policies.
• Collaborate closely with AI/ML engineers to embed domain-specific security insights into AI models and pipelines.
• Provide training and mentoring to team members on security standards, frameworks, and relevant tools.

Necessary Qualifications

• Practical experience working with AI/ML operations, particularly with large language models (LLMs).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
• Understanding of LLM fine-tuning and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques.
• Experience managing risks and compliance for AI-powered products.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, or related fields.
• Over three years’ experience in cybersecurity, including penetration testing, secure SDLC, security development, compliance, and governance.
• Familiarity with vector databases and text embedding technologies.
• Expertise in data engineering pipelines.
• Demonstrated capability in validating and operationalizing AI systems within security contexts.
• Experience developing and maintaining expert security knowledge bases.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, CEH, or equivalent are a plus.
