Position Overview
The Dry Cleaning Attendant is charged with the safe and effective cleaning, pressing, and finishing of various garments and specialty textiles. This role prioritizes maintaining exceptional quality standards for guest laundry, staff uniforms, and delicate fabrics such as bathrobes.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, examine, and label incoming laundry, including guest clothing, hotel linens, employee uniforms, and specialty items.
- Operate dry cleaning equipment and washing machines following manufacturer instructions and company policies.
- Choose appropriate cleaning techniques based on fabric material, degree of soiling, and garment care labels.
- Identify and treat stains with suitable spotting agents before cleaning.
- Use pressing machines, steamers, and irons to finish garments, ensuring they meet appearance and cleanliness standards.
- Handle delicate and valuable items carefully to prevent damage.
- Fulfill guest laundry requests accurately, promptly, and with high-quality results.
- Maintain employee uniforms to uphold professional standards.
- Manage specialty hospitality textiles such as bathrobes, spa linens, and luxury fabrics.
- Conduct quality inspections of finished items for cleanliness, damages, or missing parts like buttons or zippers.
- Reprocess items that fail quality checks by re-cleaning or re-pressing as necessary.
- Report heavily stained or damaged items to supervisors for further action.
