Job description
Role Overview
The Production Trainer at Etihad is responsible for creating and delivering comprehensive technical training programs aligned with Etihad’s corporate vision and civil aviation regulatory requirements. This role involves the development of theoretical, practical, and refresher courses centered on Technical Documents, Procedures, Safety (including Human Factors), Aircraft Systems, and Technologies. Training is conducted for various technical personnel including Technicians, Engineers, Troubleshooters, Team Leaders, and Shift Managers, also encompassing third-party vendors in outstation locations as per regulation.
Key Accountabilities
- Design, develop, plan, and provide theoretical, practical, and refresher training courses compliant with GCAA and international civil aviation standards for all Technical Division members.
- Create training content optimized for both in-person and online delivery through Etihad’s learning platforms.
- Maintain and update all training records for the Technical Operations Division.
- Formulate and apply relevant policies and procedures to support and grow the Technical training function in alignment with regulatory and corporate standards.
- Generate examination questions and review course materials continuously for quality enhancement.
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments, regulatory updates, and technological innovations pertinent to aviation maintenance training, integrating these into training programs.
- Perform maintenance certification as an authorized engineer, exemplifying highest professional and technical standards.
- Advise on and implement necessary modifications to the Etihad Technical Procedures Manual (TPM) related to training, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and best practices.
- Collaborate with departments such as operations, quality assurance, and safety to integrate training initiatives into the overall curriculum structure.
- Conduct technical assessments, invigilate examinations, and provide mentorship to junior technicians and trainees.
- Ensure timely and effective completion of all technical training competencies within the department’s goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid GCAA license, or EASA Part 66 / ICAO type II certification, or a relevant Engineering degree.
- Completed recognized apprenticeship in an engineering discipline.
- Formal technical training on at least one Etihad aircraft type.
- Certified trainer or possess a recognized training qualification.
- Minimum of 8 years in aviation maintenance with at least 5 years dedicated to technical training, assessment, and development.
- Strong understanding of aviation regulations including FAA, GCAA, and EASA.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and related training technologies is advantageous.
