Production Technician - Early Shift

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Production Technician to join an innovative manufacturing company that specializes in electrical and electronic components, based in Portsmouth. This role involves operating and maintaining automated machinery to meet production objectives while upholding stringent quality standards, particularly supporting continuous 24-hour manufacturing operations during the early shift.

Key Duties

• Operate and oversee automated production machinery to consistently meet output goals.
• Set up and perform routine upkeep on equipment within the Datamate manufacturing unit.
• Interpret technical drawings to ensure products conform to precise specifications.
• Conduct visual inspections to detect any component faults or defects.
• Adhere rigorously to EN9100 quality standards and company policies.
• Contribute to maintaining seamless production across automated manufacturing lines.
• Engage in thorough training and mentoring programs to enhance specialist skills and knowledge.

Candidate Profile

• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Knowledge or hands-on experience with automated machinery is preferred.
• Mechanically inclined with proficient manual dexterity.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high quality standards.
• Capable of meeting production deadlines effectively.
• Competent in following both written and verbal instructions accurately.
• A dependable team player with excellent punctuality and reliability.

Compensation and Work Conditions

The salary for this position is £29,358 annually plus a 22.5% shift allowance. The role is located in Portsmouth and is a full-time, onsite position on the early shift.
