Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, inspecting, testing, and preparing ProPhotonix products and their components following approved documentation and quality criteria. You will perform trained tasks consistently while maintaining traceability and identifying routine issues with problem-solving support. Key duties include:

• Assembling products and subassemblies based on work instructions, drawings, BOMs, and using appropriate tools and settings.
• Conducting in-line inspections, basic functional tests, and flagging defects or irregularities, following established non-conformance escalation protocols.
• Entering labor, material usage, serial/lot tracking, inspection data, and test outcomes accurately into production systems like PIQ, ERP, or alternatives.
• Setting up and operating production equipment within the scope of training and authorization, performing routine equipment checks and troubleshooting before escalating.
• Complying with health and safety regulations including ESD controls, cleanroom standards, contamination control, environmental, and quality procedures relevant to your work area.
• Meeting daily production targets and quality standards, promptly reporting shortages, delays, or equipment faults to supervisors.
• Maintaining clean, organized workstations and preserving components and finished goods through proper handling, 5S methodologies, and waste management.
• Engaging in cross-training, continuous improvement, team problem-solving, and assisting less experienced operators with processes.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a Leaving Certificate, secondary school diploma, vocational qualification, or equivalent.
• Have at least one year of experience in production, assembly, manufacturing, or technical operational roles.
• Desirable experience includes electronics, optics, mechanical assembly, cleanroom environments, or regulated manufacturing sectors.
• Technical qualifications, apprenticeships, or vocational training are a plus but not mandatory.
• Ability to accurately interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and inspection requirements.
• Proficient in using hand tools, assembly fixtures, and basic measurement/testing instruments safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure precise production data recording and traceability.
• Familiarity with ESD precautions, cleanroom practices, 5S organizational principles, and quality system protocols is preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency and comfort with digital tools.
• Experience with manufacturing software such as PIQ, ERP, or MRP is advantageous.
• Capability to operate within a structured production environment while adhering to safety, quality, and operational policies.
• Demonstrated teamwork abilities, reliability, and dedication to ongoing improvement.
