Role Overview

The Production Operator will join the Satellite Systems team at MDA’s Montreal office. This position involves executing routine and repetitive assembly tasks on product components using detailed processes and operating automatic or semi-automatic machinery under supervision. Responsibilities include handling simple operations in high-volume production environments, validating products before progressing through the production cycle, and assisting in shipping/receiving functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of straightforward manufacturing tasks supporting mass production.
  • Operate different automatic and semi-automatic equipment during assembly operations.
  • Conduct preliminary validation checks before subsequent production stages.
  • Connect assembled units and initiate automated validation procedures.
  • Manage feeding raw materials and extracting finished products from production lines.
  • Transport parts between workstations as needed.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving activities.
  • Carry out additional related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to interpret basic assembly drawings and follow detailed instructions accurately.
  • Familiarity with production databases.
  • Manual dexterity to handle simple hand tools effectively.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • 0 to 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in French; basic English skills are advantageous due to collaboration with Ontario headquarters.

Special Requirements

Applicants must successfully obtain and maintain a security clearance at the reliability status level and pass security screenings related to the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR compliance.
