Role Summary
The Production Manager leads operations for the Machine Shop and Moulding Shop while championing process improvements, layout restructuring, line balancing, and quality initiatives such as 5S and Kaizen. The role is crucial in designing and maintaining safe manufacturing processes, utilizing problem-solving, financial acumen, project oversight, and strong people management skills aligned to company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to and guide long-term manufacturing strategic planning and ensure execution of operational plans.
- Standardize production procedures and enforce Total Quality Management (TQM) principles, including maintaining rigorous quality control, data analytics, and corrective actions to boost performance and decrease costs.
- Drive thorough cost reduction activities via process enhancements and work closely with all functional departments to evaluate critical success factors and achieve measurable outcomes.
- Foster a high customer-centric culture with discipline to uphold product and service excellence recognized internally and externally.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators to optimize resource use and meet business targets; ensure clear communication and ownership of objectives at all levels.
- Promote and implement industry best practices across quality, reliability, cost management, and data integrity, encourage automation, streamline information flow, and consolidate knowledge sharing with supply chain partners.
- Lead Kaizen initiatives to identify enhancements in operations and supply chain efficiency.
- Engage in supplier development programs aimed at maximizing value and minimizing waste.
- Perform other duties and lead special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in progressive roles within CNC, VMC, conventional machine shops, assembly, and moulding operations.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software preferred.
- Experience in PCE (Production Completion Equipment) manufacturing strongly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate, and develop teams, fostering a cooperative learning environment and accountability.
- Proven track record working with customers and suppliers to drive value and eliminate waste.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Capable of reviewing and interpreting safety protocols, technical manuals, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
- Effective multitasking and time management skills.
- Experience working with SAP or other ERP systems is essential.
