Job description
About Us
Hato Hone St John has been serving New Zealand communities since 1885, employing almost 12,000 staff throughout Aotearoa to enhance health and wellbeing. Our services range from responding to emergency 111 calls to providing health education, access, and monitoring to support healthy lifestyles. We contribute to life-changing impacts daily.
About the Role
This position as Product Manager is flexible regarding location, with options in Christchurch, Auckland, or Wellington. You will be pivotal in shaping Telecare's future by identifying, developing, and expanding innovative service offerings relating to our core Medical Alarm solutions. Your goal is to enhance customer value and foster sustainable business growth. Collaborating across operational, digital, and customer service teams, you'll lead service innovations from ideation to launch. Utilizing customer feedback, commercial insights, and data analysis, you will design solutions that improve patient outcomes, optimize service delivery, and secure Telecare's long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate new complementary value-added services for Telecare and medical alarms.
- Create and update an innovation roadmap aligned with Telecare’s strategy and priorities.
- Develop strong business cases focusing on existing market solutions over bespoke builds.
- Lead pilot initiatives involving Monitoring, Field Representatives, and Customer Services teams.
- Analyze pilot results and advise on national scale-up and rollout strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
You bring demonstrated expertise in product management, particularly in healthcare or regulated sectors. Your commercial insight is paired with stakeholder leadership skills enabling you to translate customer needs into scalable, tested solutions. You excel in managing lean MVP testing and work collaboratively with clinical, operational, monitoring, and field teams to deliver tangible outcomes.
- Tertiary degree in business, commerce, product management, or related field.
- Proven track record in launching products and services through product management, innovation, or service design.
- Expertise across full product lifecycle including discovery, validation, launch, and ongoing improvement.
- Strong commercial skills covering business cases, pricing strategies, and investment decision-making.
- Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders in operational, clinical, and technical teams within regulated environments.
