Job description

About Stripe

Stripe is a comprehensive financial infrastructure platform empowering a vast range of companies, from large enterprises to emerging startups, to accept payments, scale revenue, and explore new business potentials. The company is committed to expanding the digital economy by simplifying online business participation globally.

Role Overview

Governments worldwide are revolutionizing transaction reporting through Continuous Transaction Controls (CTC) and mandatory e-invoicing regulations in countries including France, Germany, Spain, Poland, and various Latin American markets. Compliance with these mandates, involving real-time structured invoice transmission via certified networks, is swiftly becoming essential for Stripe's clientele.

You will take charge of Stripe's e-invoicing product line, steering product strategy, execution, and positioning Stripe as the premier solution for businesses adapting to the evolving real-time invoicing compliance landscape. This role demands collaboration across product, engineering, partnerships, and marketing teams to build foundational e-invoicing capabilities integrated into Stripe's ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the vision and roadmap of the e-invoicing product, translating evolving regulatory requirements into a long-term multi-year plan.
  • Lead Stripe’s geographic expansion in mandated regions such as Europe and Latin America, planning deployment aligned with enforcement deadlines.
  • Strategically decide on building internally, purchasing, or partnering to meet compliance promptly without compromising product quality.
  • Design seamless end-to-end user experiences, covering onboarding processes including business verification and transmitting invoices through certified channels like Peppol.
  • Collaborate with Billing, Invoicing, Tax, and Connect teams to integrate e-invoicing natively within Stripe’s financial infrastructure.
  • Set and monitor performance metrics ensuring quality, reliability, and activation success of the e-invoicing system, driving ongoing enhancements.
  • Work with go-to-market teams, sales, and solutions engineering to promote Stripe’s e-invoicing offerings to enterprise clients.
  • Serve as Stripe’s representative in engagements with regulators, certification organizations, and industry partners, managing relationships with tax authorities and network bodies.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years in product management, with at least 2 years focused on B2B fintech, payments, tax, or compliance-related products.
  • Comprehensive understanding of e-invoicing systems, including CTC frameworks and structured invoice formats such as Factur-X, XRechnung, and PEPPOL BIS, along with regulatory environments in Europe and Latin America.
  • Strong technical knowledge enabling productive collaborations with engineering on APIs, data schema design, and network integrations.
  • Proven experience conducting build/buy/partner evaluations and making informed product roadmap decisions.
  • Track record of managing product launches across multiple international markets, addressing localization and regulatory challenges.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively with influence rather than authority.
  • Excellent communication skills to simplify complex regulatory concepts for diverse internal and external audiences.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience integrating third-party technologies or acquisitions into core platforms.
  • Familiarity with Stripe Billing, Invoicing, or Tax products.
  • Background with Peppol access point certification or direct connections with tax authority platforms like Chorus Pro or KSeF.
  • Expertise in B2B invoicing workflows within mid-market or enterprise segments.
