About the Role

You will join a team dedicated to building the Defense Factory, an AI-driven platform that helps enterprises identify and remediate security vulnerabilities. The role involves developing infrastructure that supports AI agents working within secure, customer-controlled cloud environments, providing the necessary context, tools, and controls to investigate, act on, and verify security issues.

This position centers on creating dependable security solutions by leveraging AI in areas such as vulnerability management, investigation, detection, and response. The challenges encompass cloud systems, orchestration, security, and teamwork, with an emphasis on delivering user-friendly experiences for those managing and reviewing these tasks.

The team values initiative, strong customer relationships, and high engineering standards. They emphasize ownership, rapid learning, and clear, courteous communication.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with customers to develop developer and security workflows, facilitating project deployment, investigation of findings, agent-generated change reviews, and verification of fixes.
• Create backend services and APIs in Go for provisioning cloud environments, running AI agents within customer infrastructure, and integrating with developer tools such as source control and continuous integration systems.
• Architect reliable orchestration for long-running, parallel processes, managing state durability, retries, cancellations, and recovery mechanisms.
• Embed robust security practices into execution workflows, ensuring appropriate permissions, credential management, isolation, and audit capabilities.
• Take ownership of production quality including thorough testing, safe rollouts, comprehensive observability, performance tuning, and operational reliability.
• Partner with frontend developers and designers to simplify complex backend functionalities for end users.

Candidate Profile

• Proficiency in Go programming with experience developing and managing production-grade backend systems.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems principles, concurrency, state management, and fault tolerance.
• Hands-on experience working with Linux, containerization technologies, cloud infrastructure, and networking concepts including routing, DNS, and secure connectivity.
• Capability to design straightforward APIs and data structures that distill complex workflows into manageable components.
• Product-oriented mindset with a focus on customer needs, taking full ownership from problem identification to deployment and iterative enhancement.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly articulating technical decisions and collaborating effectively with cross-functional, distributed teams.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is advantageous. Depth in one or more of the following areas—developer platforms, workflow orchestration engines, Kubernetes, networking, sandboxing, identity systems, security solutions, or AI-agent workflows—is beneficial, although broad expertise is not expected. Frontend development experience is a plus but not mandatory.
