Role Overview

Join ASOS's Web & Apps department, which lies at the core of our technology, dedicated to delivering an unparalleled customer experience combining inspiration and excitement through cutting-edge technology.

We are seeking a mid-level Android Engineer to enhance our Customer Experience team by maintaining and innovating our Android app, which boasts over 5 million active users globally, an average 4.8-star rating on Google Play, and 99.9% crash-free sessions. Our app's codebase is predominantly Kotlin (above 95%), and we aim to fully phase out Java soon.

Candidate Profile

• Experienced mid-level Android developer passionate about app success
• Proficient in Kotlin programming language and comfortable with reactive programming techniques
• Able to engage in technical architecture and design discussions
• Strong advocate for thorough unit and UI testing practices, treating untested code as legacy code
• Enthusiastic about agile and scrum methodologies, thriving in small cross-functional teams
• Capable of owning significant development efforts end-to-end
• Active contributor to the Android community through blogs, open-source projects, or speaking engagements
