Product Architect - MRD Common Platform Transformation (Director)

Overview

This senior leadership role in Dublin directs a small team of expert product architects supporting the MRD Common Platform, which underpins enterprise data ingress, distribution, and access for key domains including Legal Entities, Customers, Accounts, Product Agreements, and Market Data. The position oversees the strategic architecture and modernization of the platform, emphasizing cloud-first AWS and Databricks-based solutions. Success requires effective senior stakeholder negotiation, trust-building through an incremental agile approach, and leadership of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a 3-5 year architectural roadmap aligned with Citi's enterprise data vision.
• Oversee the full product development cycle, designing scalable data ingestion and distribution systems using Databricks and modern engineering concepts like Active-Active, Blue-Green deployments, Serverless computing, and AI-assisted development.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing team of senior product architects, promoting technical excellence and continuous development.
• Collaborate with global senior business and technology leaders to align platform capabilities with business goals and foster trust through transparent, phased deployment strategies.
• Govern multi-year international programs with budgets above $20 million annually, ensuring efficient resource utilization and cloud cost optimization.
• Guarantee all architecture complies with corporate risk, security, data governance, and regulatory standards.
• Work alongside internal and external partners, including AWS and Databricks, to explore new technologies, innovate platform design, and refine the technology stack.
• Ensure platform stability and resiliency with robust disaster recovery designs to maintain zero downtime operations.

Qualifications

• Highest-level AWS certifications in Architecture (AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional) and AI/Machine Learning (AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty or AI Specialty) are mandatory.
• Proven delivery of successful multi-year projects involving distributed teams and budgets exceeding $20 million per annum.
• Minimum of 15 years in enterprise data architecture or software engineering, with 8 to 10+ years managing advanced technical teams.
• Capability to energize, retain, and lead highly skilled architects with robust technical guidance.
• Expertise in modern engineering best practices, including Active-Active architectures, Blue-Green deployments, and Serverless models.
• Adaptability to complex situations, capable of analyzing and reporting on intricate data while envisioning future platform direction.

Education

A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree and prior management experience are preferred.
