Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and clear zoning in the produce department to guarantee readiness for customers at all times.
• Regularly rotate produce items and remove any that are expired to uphold freshness and quality standards.
• Ensure all produce items are appropriately priced and labeled, adhering to correct procedures for ordering, markdowns, clearances, and signage.
• Comply with all food safety guidelines including cold chain standards, sanitation, temperature monitoring, and adherence to sell-by and expiration dates.
• Stock and downstock products as necessary, apply protective measures when required, and arrange displays using modulars, flex modulars, and shelf caps to sustain full department stocking.
• Observe all health and safety rules to maintain a safe work environment.
• Be flexible with work schedules, including availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts to ensure seamless store operations and excellent customer service.

Challenges of the Role

• Manage a high workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including overnight shifts, by maintaining energy and focus.
• Keep pace with large volumes of restocking and recovery tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items up to 50 lbs, as well as undertaking repetitive stocking and zoning activities with precision.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $16.35 per hour.
