Key Responsibilities

  • Keep the produce department clean, tidy, and properly zoned to present an attractive area for shoppers continuously.
  • Regularly rotate produce and promptly remove any expired products to maintain highest freshness and quality standards.
  • Ensure all produce items are correctly priced and labeled, adhering to established procedures for ordering, clearance, price adjustments, signage, and labeling.
  • Maintain strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and cold chain standards, including routine temperature checks and correct food handling practices based on sell-by and expiration dates.
  • Stock and downstock products as necessary, apply protective measures on items when required, and arrange modular displays, including flex modulars and shelf caps, to keep the department fully replenished.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations to sustain a clean, safe workplace.
  • Exhibit flexibility in schedule by being willing to work various shifts such as evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands and ensure consistent service quality.

Challenges in the Role

  • Effectively manage a demanding workload in a fast-paced environment, particularly during overnight shifts, by planning to maintain energy and focus.
  • Handle extensive restocking and recovery tasks with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform physically demanding duties including prolonged standing, bending, and lifting supplies typically up to 20 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Carry out repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with careful attention to detail and consistency.
