Job description
Overview
As a Produce Stocker at Walmart Canada in Hamilton, Ontario, you will gain valuable experience in a fast-moving retail setting. This role focuses on providing excellent customer service by embodying Walmart's values, maintaining an orderly and fully stocked produce section, and supporting the sale of fresh items to create a positive shopping environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and proper zoning of the produce department to ensure it is customer-ready at all times.
- Regularly rotating products, removing expired goods to uphold freshness and quality standards.
- Verifying accurate pricing and signage, including following procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, and proper labeling.
- Adhering to food safety and cold chain protocols, performing temperature checks, proper food handling, and complying with sell-by and expiration dates.
- Stocking and downstocking merchandise as needed, applying product protection, and setting up displays such as modulars and shelf caps to keep the area well stocked.
- Following health and safety regulations to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
- Being flexible with work hours, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays to support business needs.

- Handling a high volume of tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, particularly during overnight shifts.
- Managing physical demands such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting inventory items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Compensation
The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.05 Canadian dollars.
