Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-zoned produce department ready for customer interaction at all times.
• Regularly check, rotate, and remove produce items to ensure freshness and quality standards are met.
• Ensure correct pricing and signage are applied to all produce items, adhering to company procedures for ordering, promotions, clearances, and labeling.
• Adhere strictly to food safety protocols, including sanitation, cold chain maintenance, temperature monitoring, and compliance with expiration and sell-by dates.
• Stock and replenish merchandise efficiently, apply necessary product protection, and set displays and modular setups effectively.
• Follow health and safety regulations rigorously to maintain a secure and clean working environment.
• Be flexible in working varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business operational demands.

Challenges of the Role

• Manage a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced environment, especially during overnight hours, maintaining energy and sharp focus.
• Perform physically demanding activities including standing for prolonged periods, lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs, and repetitive stocking and zoning tasks requiring attention to detail.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.70 CAD.
