Job description
Role Overview and Location
The Procurement Technician position is based at the East Regional Office in Navan, County Meath, Ireland, offering a competitive salary package.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the purchasing activities within Glanua's Industrial division.
- Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders efficiently.
- Provide procurement support to designated construction sites, ensuring timely acquisition of materials and services.
- Maintain comprehensive procurement documentation such as purchase orders, goods receipts, and address any invoice discrepancies to support seamless purchase-to-pay operations on projects.
- Liaise with suppliers to gather information on product pricing, availability, and delivery confirmations when requested by project teams.
- Evaluate and compare supplier prices, specifications, and delivery timelines to identify the most advantageous bids.
- Assist in managing contracts and monitor supplier performance metrics.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and relevant legal requirements governing procurement procedures.
- Collaborate with internal departments including inventory, finance, operations, and HSQE to maintain accurate supply levels, plan procurement activities, and ensure vendor compliance.
- Update and manage procurement databases, supplier details, and product catalogs timely and accurately.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Completion of high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; associate or bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline is preferred.
- Between one and three years of relevant experience in procurement or supply chain support roles is desirable.
- Familiarity with procurement practices, sourcing methods, and supply chain basics is advantageous.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, is required; experience with ERP or procurement systems is essential with SAP knowledge seen as a plus.
- Strong organization skills and an eye for detail.
- Effective communication abilities and skills in managing stakeholder relationships.
