Procurement Engineer

Overview

We seek a dedicated Procurement & Quantity Survey (QS) Engineer to oversee procurement, vendor liaison, quantity surveying, cost management, and contract administration for residential, commercial, and institutional construction projects based in Mysore.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate material requisitions guided by approved drawings and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) to vendors and subcontractors.
• Evaluate technical and commercial quotations, creating comparative analysis reports.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms, and delivery timelines.
• Issue purchase and work orders and maintain a dependable vendor/subcontractor database.
• Coordinate with site engineers to ensure materials are delivered promptly.
• Manage procurement scheduling to prevent project delays.
• Conduct thorough quantity take-offs, validate BOQs, and estimate required materials.
• Prepare rate analyses, cost estimates, and monitor actual costs vs. budgets.
• Assess subcontractor work, certify bills, and formulate client RA bills and subcontractor payment recommendations.
• Monitor material usage and implement measures to reduce wastage.
• Support project budgeting and generate cost reports.
• Prepare and manage procurement-related contracts and documentation.
• Collaborate with accounting for invoice verification and payment handling.
• Ensure adherence to company procurement procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Between 3 and 8 years of relevant experience in procurement and quantity surveying within construction projects (residential, villas, apartments, commercial).
• Proficient knowledge of BOQs, rate analysis, and construction materials.
• Technical proficiency with AutoCAD (preferred) and advanced MS Excel.
• Expertise in BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, vendor negotiations, and cost control.
• Strong negotiation, communication, analytical, and commercial skills.
